Sayers, Dorothy L(eigh)
(13 jun. 1893, Oxford, Oxfordshire, Inglaterra–17 dic. 1957, Witham, Essex).

Escritora y académica inglesa. En 1915 Sayers se convirtió en una de las primeras mujeres en graduarse en la Universidad de Oxford. Su primera obra importante fue Whose Body? [¿El cadáver de quién?] (1923), donde introduce al detective Lord Peter Wimsey, un ingenioso, apuesto, instruido y educado joven héroe que figuraría en varias colecciones de cuentos y novelas como Strong Poison [Poderoso veneno] (1930), The Nine Tailors [Los nueve sastres] (1934) y Busman's Honeymoon [Luna de miel trágica] (1937). Después de la década de 1930 se concentró en dramas y libros teológicos, radioteatros y traducciones eruditas, entre las que se destaca la que hizo de La divina comedia de Dante.
